Influenced by a natural science background, Sabra Comins views her art practice as an ecosystem where many facets, such as family history, interactions with nature, and art mediums are all living components within a larger system.  From eco-printing to book binding to memoir writing and wood working, she is excited at the possibility of what she can add to her art. Sabra received a Masters in Environmental Management from Portland State University in 2000, completed The Arts Center’s Artist Accelerator Program in 2020, and currently serves on the Exhibition Committee at The Arts Center.  When Sabra is not outside or in her studio, she is likely to be sending letters in handmade envelopes, renewing library books, or dreaming of walking treks. She looks forward to teaching more workshops and continuing to explore nature’s colorful palette.
