Dominique Bachelet is a watercolor artist born and raised in northern France. She came to the US in August 1979 and has lived in West Virginia, Colorado, California, New Mexico, Oregon and Washington state. Dominique painted as a welcome relief from her research job simulating the impacts of climate change on forests and grasslands. As Rachel Carson once said, “Those who contemplate the beauty of the earth find reserves of strength that will endure as long as life lasts”. Dominique teaches at Oregon State University about food and climate change. She is a member of the Oregon Watercolor Society, the Corvallis Arts Center, the Vistas and Vineyards Plein Air Painting group and the Corvallis Art Guild.
